General overview of gas tank
Gas tank is a kind of equipment used to store gas, and can play a role in stabilizing the system pressure. Gas tank is used to store gas in the city gas supply project, it is also used as container in petroleum, chemical, and metallurgical industries.
Gas tank classification
According to the pressure gas tank supported, the gas tank can be divided into high pressure gas tank, low pressure tank, and atmospheric tank. According to the material of gas tank, it can be divided into carbon steel tank, low alloy steel gas tank, stainless steel gas tank. According to the pressure of gas tank, it can be divided into low atmospheric tank, medium pressure tank, and high pressure gas tank. The pressure range of low atmospheric gas tank includes 0.8-1.6Mpa; pressure range of medium pressure tank includes 2.5-4.0Mpa; and pressure range of high pressure gas tank includes 6.0-42.5Mpa.
Generally, a gas tank is composed of cylinder, header, flange, connector tube, sealing accessories, pedestal, and other relevant parts. What’s more, gas tank is also equipped with safety devices, gauge, and other internal parts with different production processes.

Gas storage tank is a kind of industrial equipment, which is commonly used to clean and compress air, is also one of the special safety equipments of the country's strict supervision. At the same time, it will directly affect the unloading of air compressor. After the gas tank is installed with air compressor, it can not only store compressed air, reduce pressure fluctuation which is generated due to the compressor exhaust is not continuous, achieving the balance between supply and use of gas, but also reduce the temperature of the compressed air, reduce the load of the filter and drying agent. Thus, the correct choice of gas tank plays a vital role:
- Most customers often prefer to choose variable frequency air compressor due to the fluctuation of gas consumption, in fact, most of the air compressors can be replaced directly by a relatively larger storage tank to reduce the unloading time
- Material of tank shell: gas tank is a kind of pressure vessel, the commonly used materials of tank shell three kinds: Q235-B, 16MnR, 16MnDR. According to GB150 "steel pressure vessel", different materials have different use state and temperature range (such as table):
